Why autistic children have a hard time learning to talk?

Nonverbal communication must be in place and activated before verbal communication can take place. Parents of autistic children sometimes try to make their children talk not knowing that it is very difficult to do this without having the nonverbal communication in place. Nonverbal communication is the foundation of verbal communication. Brain based therapy as offered at Forte Wellness, helps improve nonverbal communication. To improve nonverbal communication in a child a series of functional neurological tests must be done to determine if a child has a right hemispheric brain deficiency, or left hemispheric brain deficiency. When the brain hemisphere deficiency is detected then specific neurological exercises can be given to the child to help improve nonverbal communication.
